This training course is approx. 45 - 60 minutes long and this course trains Home Health Aides to confidently care for patients with hearing loss. Learners will explore the differences between hearing loss and deafness, types and stages of hearing loss, common communication challenges and tools such as hearing aids, cochlear implants and alerting devices. The course also covers strategies to improve communication, ensure safety, respect cultural preferences and follow company policies and CMS requirements. By the end, HHAs will be ready to help patients feel heard, understood and supported.
