Swallowing Disorders – Dysphagia

Taking this course and the quiz and reviewing the additional resources would take a total of 60 minutes. This training will introduce home health aides to swallowing disorders, also known as dysphagia. Aides will learn how to recognize the signs of dysphagia, assist patients with safe eating and drinking and understanding documentation and reporting procedures. This course will also cover the CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Conditions of Participation requirements. Additionally, we will discuss common challenges aides may face and practical solutions to provide quality care.
